Houston, TX, April 11, 2011, Sister Celeste Trahan, General Councilor for The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in religious services.
Following a nearly four decade career in nursing, Sister Trahan was elected to general councilor of The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word as a result of her congregational and community leadership skills. Apart from overseeing the general administrative duties of the congregation, she is its representative on the health system board. Sister Trahan’s devotion and faith in God has been the source of her success. Over the course of her careers, the one lesson that has stayed with her is the realization that everyone tends to one another in their daily lives.
Since she was a child, Sister Trahan has always held a desire to become a nurse. She attended Sacred Heart Dominican College and earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She attained registered nurse and certified nurse midwife designations after her graduation. In addition, she earned a Master of Science in nursing from Saint Louis University. Recognized for her achievements, Sister Trahan was recently named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women.
Moving forward, Sister Trahan intends to continue to grow within the congregation and its ministries.
