Doris Ricks-Lankford is the Director of Patient Services for the North Texas Chapter of The ALS Association, a nonprofit organization that specializes in home visits and assessments for patients. With a versatile background in patient services, education, counseling and resource management, Ms. Ricks-Lankford is currently responsible for corresponding with other care providers to coordinate medical care and services for patients, conducting patient interventions, and managing an equipment loan program. She also facilitates support groups and directs patient care and services. Ms. Ricks-Lankford is a dynamic administrator with a strong background in health care, education and social services. She has amassed more than 22 years of professional experience in the health care industry, and she also spent more than 15 years refining a skill set as an educator. She is also an information, intervention and resource specialist. The position she currently holds enables her freedom to grow personally and professionally while serving others, which is one of her long-term goals. Prior to becoming involved in education and counseling, Ms. Ricks-Lankford published an article in a dental journal in 1982. Beginning in April 2010, she embarked on a vocational journey as an Information, Intervention and Resource Specialist as a Patient Services Director, and in her current capacity, she is able to make a difference in patients’ lives. She has earned a number of accreditations; she graduated Cum Laude earning a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from The Medical College of Georgia, and Summa Cum Laude earning a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Argosy University. She holds a Postgraduate Teaching Certification in Secondary Science for Middle through High School, which she earned from Augusta State University, and she is also a Licensed Dental Hygienist in the States of Georgia and South Carolina, a Certified Science Teacher in the State of Texas, a Certified Science Teacher in the State of Texas, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the State of Texas, and a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the State of Texas. Ms. Ricks-Lankford looks forward to receiving a Ph.D. in the near future.
