SILVER SPRING, MD, July 23, 2012, Marion Elizabeth Primas, Ph.D., former Senior Public Health Advisor of the Health Resources and Services Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care.

A diverse public health background has allowed Dr. Primas to thrive in her field for nearly half a century. Prior to her retirement, Dr. Primas was responsible for counseling and advising women on health and mental health issues. She has delivered numerous international scientific presentations on women’s health and aging. For these presentations, she has traveled to such places as Berlin, Dublin, Sydney, Acapulco, Amsterdam, Sydney, Puerto Rico and Belgium. Dr. Primas has 48 years of experience, including time spent at the National Institutes of Health. She has written several articles and a chapter in two books.

Dr. Primas formerly worked in the music field for 10 years as a classical piano player. During the course of a wonderful career, throughout which, she has contentedly dedicated herself to providing top-notch service, Dr. Primas has been enthusiastic about her work and energetic in nature. She received a Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Maryland while working 40 hours a week, and she has touched the lives of many young people by giving them direction towards choosing a career in health care. Dr. Primas hopes to see more minorities earn formal educations and move into multiple areas in the health care sector. She is looking forward to working in more of a service setting and giving back to her community.
