With 27 years of experience in health care and research, Ms. Mick is considered a leading scientist in the fields of immunohematology, hematology, and toxicology. She lends her talents to UHHS Geauga Medical Center, where she conducts clinical laboratory test regimens in transfusion services, cell morphology, and forensic alcohol and drug studies. As a clinical laboratory specialist, Ms. Mick is distinguished for her strict attention to detail, which has enabled her to start at the bottom of her research and get to the top rather quickly.
An esteemed member of her profession, Ms. Mick was named to Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women in 2003, Who’s Who Among Medicine and Health Care in 2002, Who’s Who in Southern and Southwestern America in 2000, and Who’s Who in America in 2000, among many other honors. She was also an exemplary student who earned inclusion in the National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Ms. Mick attributes her success to the support and inspiration of her family, especially her grandmothers, both of whom worked in health care.
Ms. Mick earned a master’s degree in regulatory toxicology in 1991 from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in medical technology in 1984 from Bowling Green State University. She obtained an OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification in 1992 and a Board of Registry certification in 1984 from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is also a certified College of American Pathology inspector.
When she is not working, Ms. Mick enjoys playing chess and softball, and building wooden dollhouses and toys for needy children. She is a generous supporter of United Way Worldwide and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
