McMurray, Pennsylvania | October 25, 2010 | Ellen P. Martin, Associate with Center Pointe Sleep Associates, has been recognized by Elite American Healthcare Professionals for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in sleep medicine.
With over 30 years of healthcare experience, Ms. Martin is a respected expert in staff and patient education. Prior to her role at Center Pointe Sleep Associates, Ms. Martin was clinical coordinator at American Sleep Medicine, a sleep diagnostic testing center, from 2008 to 2010. A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, Ms. Martin is equipped to diagnose sleep disorders and provide both staff and patient education. Ms. Martin, who sees patients at Center Pointe’s Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia locations, utilizes a diverse sampling of testing methods to properly pinpoint the root of specific sleep disorders. She analyzes sleep test scores and recommends courses of treatments depending on the nature of the disorder. Ms. Martin’s career is self rewarding, she inspires to provide people who have not slept well in years to have a good night sleep and wake up rested, energized, and clear minded. She treats every one with dignity no matter what their problems may be.
Originally set on being a teacher, Ms. Smith was enticed by the groundbreaking work being done in the relatively new field of sleep disorders, and thus decided to focus her career on that field instead. She still views herself as a teacher at heart, however, and considers imparting valuable knowledge to staff and patients alike to be the most rewarding aspect of her work. Ms. Smith attributes her success to her passion for her profession and the support of the people around her. She has uniquely applied the fields of educational and clinical research to the business world.
Ms. Smith received her Master of Education in 1974 from Youngstown State University. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Association of Sleep Technologists. In her spare time, she volunteers with Adobt Me, raises and trains thoroughbred horses, and cares for her German Shepherd. She aspires to one day teach at the college level.
