With a great attention to detail and ability to adapt to different situations, Ms. McGann has proved to be a versatile health care professional through her many positions and years of service. Recently, she has been volunteering at The William W. Backus Hospital, where she primarily handles medical coding duties. Referring to registration information, she ensures that the correct code was used for insurance purposes. Additionally, Ms. McGann reviews physician’s orders for accuracy. She has been recognized for her volunteer service with a gold pin for 100 cumulative hours and another award after she amassed 500 hours.

Ms. McGann holds a diverse work history in the medical field. As an extern, she has worked for Charter Oak Walk-in Medical Center, PC, Global Health Consultants, LLC, and The Shaperow Psychology Center. She also served as an administrative assistant and office clerk at Daticon for eight years, as well as a volunteer at her local public library. 

Her education is no less as varied as her work experience. In 1994, Ms. McGann graduated from Regis College with a bachelor’s degree in history. Following this, she completed year of postgraduate coursework in library and information science at Simmons College. She then attended Ridley-Lowell Business & Technical Institute, where she completed a certificate in medical billing and coding. She utilized this certificate to become a professional coder-apprentice.
