Indianapolis, Indiana, January 28, 2011, Karen Ferguson, Program Chair of Diagnostic Medical Sonography for Sanford-Brown College, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sonography.

With more than two decades of professional experience, Ms. Ferguson recently took on a new role as program chair for Sanford-Brown College to utilize her expertise in sonography. In the diagnostic medical sonography department, her responsibilities are many and diverse, and include performing sonograms for advanced medical conditions and overseeing the diagnostic imaging center. A hard worker, Ms. Ferguson attributes her success to her persevering attitude in light of challenging assignments.

Interested in the health care industry since she was a child, Ms. Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Science in radiologic studies from Indiana University in 1986. She is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer and is professionally affiliated with the American Association of University Women and the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

In her spare time, Ms. Ferguson lends her support to ASPCA, Habitat for Humanity International and Holt International. With an aspiration of teaching in the coming years, she also acts as an exam writer for the National Registry. An active individual, Ms. Ferguson enjoys reading, hiking, running and working out.
