NEW HAVEN, CT, January 30, 2012, Linda L. Klebanoff, Retired Medical Secretary from the Edward H. Hon, MD, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Yale School of Medicine, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical secretarial science.
Prior to her retirement, Ms. Klebanoff was responsible for performing secretarial duties for doctors, assisting physicians with the publishing of medical books, and reading manuscripts of medical journals. Inspired by her father, a doctor, to pursue a career in the medical field, Ms. Klebanoff followed her dreams, as well as the direction of her dad, in a career path that would lead her toward success. She served as a medical secretary for the Admissions and Registrar’s Office at the Yale School of Medicine, for the Otologic Medical Group (now the House Ear Clinic), for G. Everett Gaillard, MD, and for the White Memorial Medical Center of Loma Linda University. Ms. Klebanoff pinpoints her greatest career achievement as her being granted recognition by the president of the Yale Medical Student School class of 1973 and receiving a gift to thank her for all of her hard work and assistance.
In addition to the recognition Ms. Klebanoff has received from the Yale Medical Student School president, she has also been awarded for her efforts over the course of a thriving career. She received a Gold Trophy for the Highest Academic Honors at a Commencement Ceremony at Endicott College, where she was also named a Class Correspondent for the Class of 1958 by the Alumni Association. In 1991, she received a Special Recognition Award from the Greater New Haven Section of NCJW. Attributing her success to the love she has maintained for her work, Ms. Klebanoff continues to strive for excellence in her endeavors, with a willingness to tackle any job and execute it to the best of her ability, she stands out among many talented individuals in her field.
Ms. Klebanoff has built on an ever-expansive and versatile skill set throughout her career. She formerly worked for a senior center, where her responsibilities included typing and editing the monthly newsletters and calendars. Ms. Klebanoff thoroughly enjoyed each job that she had, medical and non-medical, and worked for doctors and other well-known individuals. She also enjoyed working in different cities such as New Haven, Conn., White Plains, N.Y., and Los Angeles. As a child, she honed artistic skills as a performer; she was a violin soloist and a member of a youth orchestra. She still enjoys listening to music and playing the violin. Some of her other favorite pastimes include swimming, needleworking and shopping.
