Marvin C. Kidwell, MS, LPCC is the Director for the Counseling Associates of Lexington, KY, a premier counseling center offering mental health counseling services and sessions which address domestic violence and anger management. Mr. Kidwell specializes in substance abuse, grief work and gender identity issues, and in his capacity, he works with adult and geriatric patients, and addresses and resolves conflicts. He practices cognitive behavioral, reality and gestalt therapy, and attends meetings with patients to discuss therapy approaches. He is also responsible for hiring staff, promoting and making referrals, and for managing, planning and executing marketing initiatives. Mr. Kidwell has been in the health care field for more than 13 years. Before moving to Kentucky, he was a regular on-air contributor for “Rainbow Recover,” a radio program in West Palm Beach, Fla., for recovering addicts. He is now involved with the Counseling Associates of Lexington, KY, which is part of a state and federal program for those on parole or probation. While working with this population of clients, Mr. Kidwell uses a confrontational, yet nonaggressive, approach.
