Boston, Massachusetts | November 10, 2010 | Pamela B. Siren, RN, MPH, Vice President of Quality and Compliance for Neighborhood Health Plan, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for her dedication, leadership, and achievements in quality management and compliance.

With nearly three decades of health care experience, Ms. Siren attributes her success to her perseverance, diligence and risk-taking. As Vice President of Quality and Compliance, the most rewarding aspect is Ms. Siren’s opportunity to integrate all of her previous experiences, professionally and academically, into one satisfying position. She enjoys the challenge of her tasks constantly changing at a fast pace and she finds herself often drawing on her experience as a critical care nurse to maximally multitask and stay calm despite turbulent times. Her path towards her current position has been rather unusual compared to others in her field and she attributes this to her passion for clinicians on the front-line. She has blended her skills as a clinician, business consultant, and public health professional to the ultimate goal of improving health for populations of patients.

Ms. Siren earned a Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Widener University in 1979. She retains affiliations with the Health Care Compliance Association, the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, the American Association of Internal Auditors, and the American Society of Quality Professionals. Devoted to helping others, she volunteers her skills and experience with the Regional Medical Response Team, the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, Rosie’s Place, and Pine Street Inn. Always interested in the field of health disparities, Ms. Siren recently completed the Disparities Leadership Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, which helped her promote her current company’s health equity program and actually produce a measurable impact. With vast success in various fields, Ms. Siren advises others to commit to being a lifelong learner and constantly challenge your abilities by taking risks and exceeding the boundaries set by others.
