ELYRIA, OH, October 9, 2012, Rose M. Rivera, CMA, C.Ph., Adjunct Faculty Member of Lorrain County Community College and Certified Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist with Erie Coast Chest Physicians, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements, and leadership in medical support services.
Ms. Rivera, an expert in medical assistance and coding, adeptly coordinates with students in the medical laboratory, and assists students in taking vital signs and performing blood tests in her capacity as a member of the adjunct faculty at the institute of higher education offering a unique and rewarding experience through its courses, educational partnerships, professors, students, facilities and setting. In her role at Erie Coast Chest Physicians, Ms. Rivera is in charge of preparing medical charts for patients. With nearly 40 years of professional experience under her belt, Ms. Rivera continues to learn and grow professionally as she strives for excellence in her every endeavor.
After having amassed more than 32 years of factory experience, Ms. Rivera began working at Lorain County Community College and Erie Coast Chest Physicians in 2008. She became an instructor after going back to school to embark on new professional ventures upon the encouragement of her mentor Cindy Watkins. She would never have dreamed that she could be an instructor if not for her. She attributes her success to the support she received from Ms. Watkins, as well as to the ongoing support that she receives from her husband. Ms. Rivera earned an Associate of Arts in Business from Lorain County Community College, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Administration and an Associate of Applied Science with a concentration in Medical Assistance and Clinical Studies.
Ms. Rivera has fulfilled a number of professional roles over the course of an illustrious career. These positions have included that of a clerk and cashier at the Hills Department Store, which led her to advance toward positions as an assembler, maintenance coordinator and computer operator, and then a preventive maintenance coordinator at Emerson Network Power, where she also served as a stockroom and inventory control coordinator. Ms. Rivera has also served as an associate at the May National Bank of Ohio—where she received the Perfect Attendance Award—and as a medical assistant for Tri-County Medical Associates, Inc., and worked for The Cleveland Clinic and Plastic Enterprises, Inc. She is currently an instructor for the Wildlife Division of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, a treasurer for ABWA Management, LLC, a range officer, membership officer and treasurer of the Beaver Creek Sportsman Club.
Ms. Rivera takes pleasure in umpiring baseball games, fishing, hunting and crafting ceramics in her spare time. She also enjoys archery and practicing tai chi.
