DEERFIELD BEACH, FL, November 21, 2013, Deirdre A. Foudy, Doctor of Physical Therapy for CompHealth, has been recognized by Elite American Health Professionals for dedication, achievements and leadership in physical therapy services.
Dr. Foudy has been practicing physical therapy for 36 years and joined CompHealth two years ago. An expert in all aspects of physical therapy, she is responsible for taking care of a diverse adult population with orthopedic problems, and handling acute care, ICU, cardiac rehab and first phase neurological CVA treatment.
Dr. Foudy gained an interest in the physical therapy while doing volunteer work in high schools. She thought it would be the right career path and has honed her skills in the field ever since. Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Foudy gained experience in a wide variety of settings, including rehabilitation, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics and teaching. She also served as an independent practitioner for many years in the home health care arena, and worked as an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University and LaGuardia Community College. Dr. Foudy enjoys being able to help people and ease their suffering, as well as mentoring up-and-coming professionals.
Dr. Foudy is an aquatic certified therapist and ATRI certified aquatic therapist through the Therapy Rehab Institute. She earned a doctoral degree in physical therapy at Stony Brook University, a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy at Hunter College, and an associate degree in physical therapy assisting at Suffolk Community College. She attributes all of her professional success to loving what she does, considering herself a lifelong learner, and liking challenges. Looking toward the future, Dr. Foudy plans to branch out and do traveling therapy in different parts of the country, with the idea to gather different processes, procedures and techniques utilized everywhere.
