Prior to her current position, she was a trainer for division one athletes and received the Coach’s Award from Mayor Tom McEnery in 1986. As a practiced psychotherapist, Ms. Coblentz has dedicated her work to successfully helping others gain confidence and defeat their problems. Focused on improving her patient’s mental health and well-being, Ms. Coblentz enjoys watching each patient’s transformation as they gain confidence and get back on track. She hones in on each patient’s strength and works on positivity training. She attributes her success in her profession to her genuine passion for her career and her authenticity when interacting with a patient. She does not interact with her patients in a stiff clinical manor; instead she strives to be personable and understanding. As an intercollegiate athlete and former athletic trainer, Ms. Coblentz is more adept in working and performing under pressure. She is also able to pull from her background in athletics to help motivate and “coach” a patient back to a positive mental state. Ms. Coblentz knows others in the mental health profession may not have the background she has, but she advises them to maintain a high level of trust and integrity with each client and strive to make the client feel comfortable so they can be more perceptive to your guidance. She also recommend for others to focus on networking within the industry and to do volunteer and pro-bono work whenever possible. In 1998, Ms. Coblentz received a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from John F. Kennedy University, she also holds a Bachelor of Science in physical education and coaching from the University of Wisconsin-Madison obtained in 1983.
