Originally set on being a teacher, Ms. Smith was enticed by the groundbreaking work being done in the relatively new field of sleep disorders, and thus decided to focus her career on that field instead. Ms. Smith attributes her success to her passion for her profession and the support of the people around her. She has uniquely applied the fields of educational and clinical research to the business world.Ms. Smith received her Master of Education in 1974 from Youngstown State University. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Association of Sleep Technologists. In her spare time, she volunteers with Adobt Me, raises and trains thoroughbred horses, and cares for her German Shepherd. She aspires to one day teach at the college level.
