Julie Bulson’s involvement with a disaster committee led to opportunities in emergency preparedness. She joined Spectrum Health, a nonprofit health system that provides a wide range of health care and community services, in 1977 and has become an integral member of its staff. Recognized as an expert in her field, Ms. Bulson manages response programs and ensures communities are prepared for emergencies.  Throughout her career, Ms. Bulson worked as a nurse and held various nursing management positions at Blodgett Hospital. She served as a nursing administrative assistant, assistant director NNICU, assistant director Peds/PICU, clinical manager SICU, and clinical manager 2 south orthopaedics. Her vast experience exposed her to different facets of the industry and she became well versed in clinical research, nursing, health care and program management and emergency management. She attributes her success to her passion. Looking toward the future, Ms. Bulson hopes to earn a Ph.D. and achieve personal and professional growth.
